Rajasthan Journey
DAY 1: Departure point / Delhi
Departure for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, welcome by the guide and transfer to the hotel.
DAY 2: Delhi
Breakfast. Set off to explore the city, beginning with a visit to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, built in 1650. Continue with a cycle-rickshaw ride / walk through the urban chaos of the Chandni Chowk market street in Old Delhi. It is a sight to behold! Next, visit Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Lunch. Visit New Delhi, passing by India Gate, the Sikh temple Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Humayun's Tomb and the Qutub Minar, built in the 12th century and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: Delhi / Jaipur - 250 km
Breakfast. Depart for Jaipur. Check in and lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, a Bollywood film screening at the finest cinema in Asia, the Raj Mandir. Free time for shopping. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4: Jaipur
Breakfast. Depart for Amber Fort. On the way we will make a photo stop in front of the Palace of the Winds (Hawa Mahal). Ascend to Amber Fort on elephant back and visit the fort, the ancestral home of the Maharajas of Jaipur, built in 1135. Lunch. Visit the City Palace in town, which is also the permanent residence of the royal family of Jaipur. Visit the Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 5: Jaipur / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra - 160 km
Breakfast. Depart for Agra. On the way, visit the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri, built in the 16th century, which was the City of Victory under the Mughal Empire. Arrival in Agra.
Check in, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 6: Agra (100 km / approx. 4h)
Breakfast, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal at sunrise. Then visit the Red Fort and the Baby Taj Mahal. Lunch at a restaurant, then visit Sikandra, the Tomb of Akbar. In the late afternoon we will cross the Yamuna River and go to the Mehtab Bagh garden to admire the Taj Mahal at sunset. You will be amazed by the beauty of this monument as it shifts from the white of its marble to the warm colours of sunset and the blue of night.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 7: Agra / Delhi – 230 km
Breakfast, depart for Delhi. Arrival in the city and lunch. Then visit the Lodhi Garden and the Hindu temple Laxmi Narayan, dedicated to the god Vishnu and other deities. Dinner at a restaurant and transfer to the airport.
